The shaman mediates between the visible world of form and matter and the invisible world of energy and spirit. For the shaman there is no supernatural world; only the natural world exists, with its visible and invisible dimensions. They recognise that everything is a mutually connected and inter-related whole.

There is a creation story that says: in the beginning before space and time existed, in the un-manifest void, there was an Immense Force. Each spiritual tradition has it's own name for this, but in Shamanism it's know as Great Spirit. This Immense Force wished to know itself, to experience itself; but to do that there needed to be a contrast, a comparison. Out of itself, the Immense Force manifested the universe and everything within it. Everything, the stars, the planets, the trees, all of life are but an aspect of this Immense Force, but to truly experience itself, the Immense Force had to hide its nature from itself.

So, it could be seen that we are wearing a costume, underneath which we are an aspect of the divine, playing a part or a role in a fantastic play, choreographed perfectly as this amazing journey of life.

Shamanism is not a religion but comes from the direct experience and understanding of oneness; it's a framework of wisdom, tools and methods used to bring about profound evolutionary growth and transformation, so that we may know and experience the true nature of ourselves and all things. It teaches us the tools to step into our souls journey, to transform ourselves and our life. We are no longer a victim of life but a participant in the dance of creation.
